An Open Apology to Our Triumph of the Heart Community
Dear Friends,
I’m sitting here with a heavy heart, owning the mess we’ve found ourselves in with our screenings, and I want to share this moment of vulnerability with you—our incredible community who’ve poured so much love and trust into Triumph of the Heart. You deserve honesty, clarity, and our unwavering commitment to make this right.
Seven years ago, we set out to tell a story of hope through a Holocaust film, one you helped us create through your crowdfunding and crowdsourcing. You believed in us, and together, we built something meaningful—a film that sold out 70 weekday sneak screenings despite significant challenges. We’re so grateful for your passion, which filled every seat and proved the power of this story.
But here’s where we stumbled. Our partnership with AMC, our preferred theater partner, hit unexpected turbulence. Ticketing issues from our earlier sneaks compounded the problem—links sent late, some screenings overlooked entirely—leaving our team scrambling and, more painfully, leaving you, our supporters, caught in the uncertainty.
This isn’t who we are, and it’s not the experience we promised you. We take full responsibility for not anticipating these challenges sooner and for the communication delays as we worked to resolve them. It breaks my heart that you, who’ve carried this film with us, have felt the weight of this disruption.
Here’s the good news: AMC’s leadership has heard our concerns and is stepping up to make things right. We are grateful to their leadership for coming back to the table and working at this final hour for resolution.
To the approximately 160 screenings still in limbo, we hear you. Some may be rescheduled, and if we cannot deliver, we will refund every penny—you have my word. Our team is working tirelessly to confirm ticketing details, though we know theaters’ last-minute processes may mean tickets arrive the morning of your event. We’re reaching out to hosts first, then to each of you, to keep you informed.
Here’s what you can do:
Check your screening status: If you’ve received confirmation, it’s locked in, pending ticketing details.
Need a refund? We’ll be reaching out to screenings that aren’t able to be fulfilled with information on how to process a refund.
Want to help? Your prayers and patience are our strength as we navigate this.
This moment reminds me that courage isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up, owning our mistakes, and doing the hard work to make it right. You’ve shown us that courage, and we’re determined to honor it. Thank you for trusting us, for believing in this story, and for being the heartbeat of Triumph of the Heart. Together, we’ll bring this film to the screen and prove that theaters are still sanctuaries for shared stories.
With all my gratitude,
Anthony D’Ambrosio
